Her parents found out in a letter that she was gone, leaving them heartbroken. Mary ended up getting married to a white man and moved in with him. In the Indian culture families are very close with one another and always stay close to home to be around their loved ones. Juniors teacher saw potential in him so he tried his hardest to convince junior to find a better school that will suit him Those are the main reasons why people in the rez die, not many of them go very far in life. His teacher then proceeds to tell him that if he doesn’t he will die because of alcoholism, getting beaten up, gambling and lack of hope. You can’t fight us forever.” Junior says Indians don’t just leave the rez because of the fact that every indian family teaches their kids that family sticks together so no one ever leaves.
